CARTHAGE, Missouri (5-15-25) – The Arbor Day Foundation named Carthage a 2024 Tree City USA in honor of its commitment to plant, grow, and maintain trees to benefit its community.
The Carthage Tree Board is proud to celebrate Carthage’s 26th consecutive year as a designated Tree City USA community, a recognition of the city's ongoing commitment to urban forestry and environmental stewardship. Over the past several years, the Tree Board has distributed more than 1,200 sapling trees to residents and remains dedicated to continuing this popular program during the annual Earth Day Celebration held each April in Central Park. This event is made possible through strong collaboration with the Carthage Chamber of Commerce, Vision Carthage, and other city partners, reflecting a shared commitment to a greener, more vibrant community.
