The City of Carthage Fire Department is participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's annual Fill the Boot campaign this Labor Day weekend and is inviting the community to stop by and support the cause.
Firefighters are collecting donations at the Walmart parking lot near Murphy USA from Friday, September 4, through Sunday, September 6, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
The fundraiser is part of a nationwide partnership between firefighters and the Muscular Dystrophy Association that helps fund research, care, support services, and programs for individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases.
The campaign got off to a great start on Friday, and firefighters will continue accepting donations throughout the weekend. Whether you're running errands, shopping, or simply passing through, every donation helps make a difference.
The Carthage Fire Department appreciates the community's continued generosity and encourages everyone to stop by, say hello, and help Fill the Boot for MDA.
